Sports Week

For yun...

Haha

Lase week is the Sports Week! If you're asking why you better go get into some sporting activities!

First of all, the first race of the new season of Formula 1 started last week! Such an exciting race. With all the unknowns factors, for example, the real measurements of the teams, the quality of the new drivers, how the new rules will work out and so on, we finally got everything in picture after the first race. So it was Alonso, Schumacher and Raikkonen (I still can't spell with his without reference!). Disappointing that Ferrari didn't get both cars onto the podium but nevertheless, it was an encouraging result. Here's something that I just found out while browsing through http://f1.racing-live.com/en/

Ok. I shall not copy and paste the whole article here just in case I get caught for breaking the copyright laws.

The article was about Schumacher. Haha. As we all should know, he had a really tough season last year, and he found it hard to get the motivation needed for the races because he just didn't have the winning car worth him fighting for the races. So this year, he had the names of his wife and two children written on his helmet (in Chinese), so that they will always be ridding with him.

This is sentimental, according to Peny. And let's hope it will do some good for those who are having exams right after their March holidays. Haha.

Enough of F1. Let's get to the biggest game in the world -- SOCCER!

First of all. The highest honour for club competition, the Champions League. Two big matches (all are big matches in a sense, but two bigger ones). On Tuesday we had Barcelona against Chelsea. 1 -1 was the result but Barcelona got through on aggregate. Then on Wednesday, Arsenal playing against Real Madrid. I watched this match, partly cause I thought Bara-Chelsea was on Wednesday but also I wanted Real Madrid to get through, simply for the fact that it is a Spanish club. It was exiciting on its own, but if only there were some goals... No goals for the match, and Arsenal is through to the last eight with a 1-0 aggregate.

Next, we move on the league games, starting with the most watched league in the world, the English Premiership League. Arsenal against Liverpool! One side is through to the quater finals of Champions league, and the other just failed to defend their title as the Champion of Europe. But that's what will make this match even more interesting. Liverpool will try to amend themselves for the disappointment in the mid-week Champions League defeat to Benfica and Arsenal, even though still in the Champions League, will want to win the game too so as to be able to play in Europe again next season.

Spanish League is next. Late Saturday we had Valencia versus Real Madrid. It ended up with a goalless draw with Canizares saving a penalty from Ronaldo. No good to both teams, but Barcelona will have to play against Osasuna (fourth place on the table). Let's hope Osasuna will help Valencia and Real Madrid to maintain the gap to 11 points...

And then to the Serie A. We have AC Milan against Juventus!

Ok. I so sounds like a sports reporter now. But you get my point why this week is a Sports Week. And if you forgot, the Commonwealth Games is starting in 3 days times right here in Melbourne! I know it wouldn't be 'right here in Melbourne' for everyone who's reading this because I realised I have a readers list from all over the pacific region. Singapore, Malaysia and even China. Hehe...

In the meantime, if you have nothing much to do and is here in my blog to waste some time, I congratulate you that you had just wasted about five to eight minutes. But if that's not enough, go ahead and waste some more time here!

And if that's still not enough, go to my friendster account and drop me a testimonial!

Cya~

I'll be boasting about my University in the next post. Have to try to be Alonso for one day.
