What a week for F1

I'm very sorry that F1 is the only thing in my mind now after such an eventful Hungarian Grand Prix in which the stewards were busy penalising drivers but of course the best part of the race weekend was the race itself.

I shall not go on about how the race went cause if you're truely an F1 fan you should had watched it already! =P

Anyway, was talking to Xiaoli until around 3am just now and now, after packing my bag and everything (I know this sounds like a secondary or primary school kid, but it's already a habit, and it's a good one in fact), I went to the official formula 1 website again before I go to sleep. It's like second nature! I have to go there whenever I open up IE. Funny thing it's not my homepage.

Bleahz. Anyway, the news now is...

Mark Webber has joined Red Bull Racing for 2007!

Ok that's the hottest news right now but let's have a summary of the events that took place in (more or less) the Formula 1 world:
  1. Mark Webber has joined RBR.
  2. Jacques Villeneuve has parted BMW after mutual consent.
  3. The FIA and GPMA has reached an agreement to 'freeze' engine developments until at least 2009. Engines are still allowed for developments before the Chinese GP.
  4. Jenson Button, the first driver to sign a cap for me, has won his first ever F1 race in Hungary, after 113 starts.
  5. Michael Schumaher has been classified 8th following Kubica's disquailification. Kubica's initially classification was 7th. This moves both Ferrari drivers up to 7th and 8th, making it 2 points and 1 point for Massa and Schumi repectively. As such, Ferrari has closed the gap to Renaul in the Constructor Championship to 7 points, and Michael is now 10 points behind Fernando in the Driver's Championship.
  6. Cristiano da Matta (former F1 driver) is hospitalised after colliding with a deer that had ran unto the track during a Champ Car World Series. If you want to make a donation you can make a donation in his name to Hole in the Wall Camps, an official charity of the series. More information can be found by visiting http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org or calling 203-562-1203. (There was no mention of the deer but if the protected driver is hospitalised I reckon the deer is dead.)

Now for some rumours. The Finnish press reported that Heikki Kovalainen has signed a deal with Renault for a race seat. The same press also suggested that Kimi Raikkonen will move to Ferrari for the 2007 season to join Felipe Massa, which means that Michael Schumacher will be retiring after 2006. However, all these are rumours and so we should not read too much into these news and we shall just wait until formal annoucements have been made.

Who read until here?
